Three generations. Glenn, Barry, and Neal Shepard lead the business today, and their children are already in it — Glenn’s daughters Susan and Amy, Barry’s son Bret, and Neal’s son Josh, who runs the service department here at the CDJR store. Neal spent seventeen years on the board of the Maine Auto Dealers Association and served as its president from 2008 through 2010. New Jeep®, Ram, Dodge, and Chrysler, plus used vehicles from just about everywhere. On the Jeep side that’s the Wrangler, Gladiator, Compass, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Wagoneer, Wagoneer S, and Grand Wagoneer. Ram covers the 1500, 2500, and 3500, along with Chassis Cab, ProMaster, and ProMaster EV. Dodge brings the Durango and the Charger, and Chrysler brings the Pacifica and the Voyager.
The used side is a different animal, because those come in on trade and through auction, so the lot runs across every major brand and not only ours.

178 New County Road, Thomaston, ME 04861, on Route 1 between Warren and Rockland. Sales is 207-594-2154, service is 207-466-6867, and parts is 207-466-2583. Shepard Toyota sits a few doors up the same road, so look for 178 on your first visit and you’ll pull straight into the right lot.

Sales is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, closed Sunday. Service runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is closed weekends. Holiday schedules vary.

Same family, three separate stores, all on New County Road in Thomaston. Shepard CDJR at 178 handles Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram, Shepard Toyota is at 181, and Shepard Select at 165 is the used-vehicle store. Each one has its own sales, service, and parts team, so a Ram gets worked on here, and a Tacoma gets worked on up the road. Buy from any of the three and you’re dealing with the same family.

Most of our customers come out of Knox, Waldo, and Lincoln counties. Rockland, Thomaston, Camden, Rockport, Warren, Waldoboro, Belfast, Damariscotta, and Union make up the bulk of it, along with the smaller places around them — Owls Head, Cushing, Friendship, South Thomaston, Tenants Harbor, and Hope. Vinalhaven and North Haven send us customers too. Live anywhere along Route 1 in the Midcoast and you’re in our neighborhood.
