The Wrangler 4xe has a powerful electric motor and a 2.0L turbocharged gas engine. Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid technology gives you the confidence and freedom to take every adventure to new places. An EPA estimated all-electric driving range of 21 miles means you can charge up overnight or at public charging stations and get around town solely on electric power, while a combined electric and gas EPA estimated total driving range of 370 miles opens up whole new possibilities for exploring off-road.
Every Wrangler 4xe has a Level I (120V) charging system that plugs into a typical household outlet. You can get an even faster charge with an available safe, simple-to-use Level II (240V) charger like the Mopar® Branded TurboDX Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger. Use Qmerit, our approved partner, for installation. The Level II charger can fully charge the Wrangler 4xe battery in approximately 2 hours (vs. 12 hours). For most home configurations, all you need to do is give Qmerit some information about your home layout and electrical panel. The free estimate will take only 5-10 minutes, and you can decide whether to move forward at your convenience.
The Wrangler 4xe uses electric power without compromising the Jeep Brand’s adventurous spirit. The default Hybrid mode combines torque from both the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motors. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque, and the best acceleration. Electric power is consumed first. When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode, allowing for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles. eSave Mode prioritizes the 2.0L engine, saving the battery charge for later use. When power demand is low, the engine shuts off. It can also be reconfigured to increase the battery charge. Regenerative braking allows the battery to be charged when decelerating and braking. The Max Regeneration feature remaps the accelerator pedal to command more aggressive regeneration at low pedal positions. It allows you to slow the vehicle down without the brake pedal, but a complete stop always requires the brake pedal. It also stays selected until you turn it off. With a 4:1 low-gear ratio powered by the full-time Rock-Trac® 4×4 Full-Time Transfer Case system with locking differential, Rubicon 4xe can deliver a 77:2:1 crawl ratio to confidently overcome obstacles.
The 2021 Jeep® Wrangler Sahara 4xe comes standard with leather-trimmed seats as well as a leather-wrapped upper instrument panel, door armrests, center console, grab handles, and mid bolster. Let me tell you a story about a stressful month. And then somehow the universe heard me say, "What next!?" and took it as a challenge - and my car died.
...and so I found myself car-less and faced with the daunting task of car shopping. Somehow I had to figure out how to take time off from work and leave my neurologically injured dog to go look at cars and deal with salesmen who direct questions to my husband instead of me. (IYKYK...right ladies?)
So, I started to browse the local to us dealers, figuring I could minimize my time away from home and keep my dollars local. What started as innocent browsing online, turned into a full blown car buying experience like no other. (I also got incredibly lucky that Shepard had 2 of the exact vehicle models I wanted to test drive -- I didn't buy one, but the Chevy Trailblazer is an amazing little ride and super cute to boot!)
First of all, let's start with Zak.
Zak was knowledgeable, helpful, and had a great sense of humor throughout the entire process. Car shopping - and especially the buying part - is not my favorite activity, but Zak worked closely with my husband, Rick, to make everything as streamlined and painless as possible.
One thing I especially appreciated was how Zak treated ME (not my husband...this is MY car, not his) as the customer throughout the process. Even though my husband was helping coordinate much of the shopping, Zak never talked around me or directed conversations solely to him. He made a point to keep me informed, reached out directly with updates, and made sure I felt involved and comfortable every step of the way.
The team at Shepard went above and beyond, accommodating my work schedule by allowing Rick to bring vehicles to me for test drives during the day. They also handled nearly all of the paperwork over the phone, which made the process incredibly convenient. When it came time to pick up my new-to-me Mazda CX-50, I was in and out of the showroom in less than 10 minutes.
Zak also went out of his way to make the experience fun and exciting. From sending updates along the way to hyping me up on pickup day, he made me feel genuinely excited about my purchase instead of stressed by the process.
Second and to top it all off, the finance team secured a great interest rate and kept me right within my target monthly payment. I can't thank Zak and the entire Shepard team enough for making what is usually a stressful experience so easy, efficient, and enjoyable.
